Having Fun
On certain afternoons of the week at Ganges we had sports and recreation days. This could have been organised sport, climbing the mast with your oppo (wearing shorts down to our knees, blue shirts and long socks) or taking part in other organised activities on the parade ground or on the assault course.
Here are three photos of that kind of stuff - although 'fun' was of the compulsory form!
'Fun day' - entering a 'seven legged' race on the parade ground
Mick Ross, Colin Smith, Terry Rice, 'Tip' O'Keefe, Taffy Thomas and Dennis Barnard
More 'Fun day' - a chariot race with PO Allard overseeing operations
'Dock', 'Jenny' Wren, John Nixon, Kevin Calvert (the poor guy in the chariot is 'Roles').
After running the assault course in blue 'ovies,' pumps and no socks! (was this bit fun??)
